The last time I was in Bangkok at tuk-tuk ate my camera. I wanted to travel from Wat Pho to another part of town that I couldn't successfully communicate to my driver. In the confusion between talking with my driver plus another helpful driver I left a Canon 1DS with a 17-35mm zoom lens in the back of the tuk-tuk. That added up to a $8,500 ride to nowhere. The other factor that caused me to leave the camera was carrying a tripod. I normally don't carry one when I'm shooting, but wanted it for reclining Buddha photos. After grabbing my tripod the equipment weight felt right and I started to look for another driver. When I realized I didn't have my camera the first tuk-tuk was gone. Either the driver or the next passenger managed to get a great souvenir.
